Namaste yogis and yoginis

The next  Mindful Yoga Day at Number 15 will be on Sunday 11th September 11a.m. to 4p.m. in the beautiful setting of Number 15 in Hoylake where Hilary always provides us with a most delicious lunch and an ambient setting for our yoga and mindfulness practices. The day in September will be a Yoga Therapy day - the difference is using yoga as therapy with supported gentle postures, connection to specific breathing and meditation practices. Comments on the last day were: 

We had a wonderful day at Number 15 today. It was a lovely, warm group of people, Sue, as ever, was ace, the yoga was soooooo relaxing, and lunch was delicious.

Thank you so much for today- it was wonderful and just what I needed. Days like today really help to re-balance my energies.

Living with Awe and Acceptance.
According to Dr Wayne Dyer there is a verse in the Tao Te Ching that alerts us to two components that work together for a harmonious life: a sense of awe and total acceptance. 
The purpose of having a sense of awe is to help loosen the ego's grip on thinking. Being in Awe staves off disasters because there is a lack of fear regarding worldly conditions. We become grounded instead in the many miracles that are occurring everyday in our lives and those of others. 
With the current climate of uncertainty in all of our lives at the moment we need to remain grounded in the here and now - in what is possible rather than what is not possible. In awe of potentialities. 
Sadly we are weighed down with many negative images and stories of media reporting especially since the referendum, but we can stay present in remembering to try to see the miracles rather than the conditions. Difficult I know but yoga helps us to stay in the present moment - the only moment where life truly does exist -
Quit. Don't quit. Noodles. Don't noodles. You are too concerned with what was and what will be. There is a saying -  Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift! That is why it is called the Present!

So, amid uncertainly, let us try to be certain of one thing - yoga takes us to the present moment! Let us embrace the gift!
