Namaste all,
Yoga 4th December click link to view reel.
Yoga as always on Monday at 11.15a.m at Greasby Centre where we will continue with grounding and balancing practices to build strength and flexibility of body and mind as winter and December begins in earnest!
A reminder that we are always working towards:
Connecting body, breath and mind.
Using the breath to anchor the mind in the feedback from the body and breath.
Using the breath to listen carefully to the feedback from the body and mind.
The breath is the anchor for our deeper connection to ourself. The in breath feeds muscles and the out-breath calms the nervous system which is what allows us to really listen to the subtle feedback from the body even the subtle signals for which there may not be any words just sensations.
Listening to the sensations requires concentration (dharana) and a willingness to go beyond the ego, the machinations of the mind and our conditioning and to allow the body to be wherever it can be in any pose with integrity.
To push beyond where the body is able to be in any given moment means that we are not listening to anything other than the ego.
Of course it is always good to play the edges of where the body and breath are able to be safely otherwise there is very little progress in the building of the necessary strength and flexibility as the basis of our foundation of connection and to take us beyond our habitual comfort zone!
We all love to remain in our comfort zone but then the magic remains always beyond our reach! In the words of Jack Canfield,
As always, it is about BALANCE!
Looking forward to seeing you in class!
Shanti Om
Sue 🙏
