Yoga during August will focus on THE GARDEN WITHIN
Yoga focusing on Blooming, Softening, and Reflection
This month, let’s practise like a garden: opening slowly, drawing nourishment inward, and trusting that stillness is part of growth too. These will be the themes guiding us on the mat during August.
🌿 The Energy of the Garden
Every flower unfolds at its own pace. On the mat, we channel that patience — moving with the unhurried rhythm of petals opening rather than forcing a shape before we’re ready.
💗 Compassion
Compassion is the soil from which everything else grows. We practise it first toward ourselves — meeting tight hips or a wandering mind with the same kindness we’d offer a struggling seedling.
🌸 Softening
Not every strength comes from gripping. This month, we explore the strength found in letting go — soft jaws, soft and open mind, soft effort — the way a petal yields to the breeze without falling apart.
🌼 Receiving
A garden doesn’t force the rain to fall; it simply receives it. In stillness and in savasana, we practise receiving — support from the earth, the breath, the community around us.
💚 Heart Awareness
Gentle backbends and heart-openers this month invite us to notice what’s blooming in our own hearts — gratitude, tenderness, or simply the willingness to stay open a little longer.
🍂 Reflection
Every garden has a season of turning inward. We’ll close our August practice with quiet reflection — noticing what has grown, what needs tending, and what we’re ready to let fall away.
Come as you are, and let yourself bloom in your own time. See you on the mat 🌷
Shanti Om
Sue 🙏 x
