Namaste all,

Classes resume after Easter on Monday 15th April at the usual time.
From next month the newsletters will be sent monthly unless there is anything that needs sharing in between (the Zumba newsletters, for those who do both, will also be monthly from April)
Tomorrow we will be spending our final session with Virabhadrasana 1,2 and 3 in a flow through all three.
The Warrior Poses refer to the three in a series which are meant to develop strength, flexibility, and mental focus.
Virabhadrasana in Sanskrit means, “Vira" meaning "hero" or "warrior" and "bhadra" meaning "friend", the poses are said to be inspired by the great warrior in Hindu mythology, Virabhadra.
In the Bhagavad Gita the conversation between Krishna and Arjuna, suggests that through practising the warrior poses one is not condoning violence, but rather as the warrior group is practised, we develop the strength to work with the internal struggle we all face against our own ego, conditioning, and machinations of the mind. When building strength of body, we assist in building strength of mind and developing knowledge of the real or inner Self.
Therefore, being in the poses at any level or degree will help in building our inner strength wherever our physical strength may lie.
We can also look at building this strength as a new beginning - just as the spring is about new beginnings and letting go and of rebirth and renewal - can begin to let go of old thoughts, habits, and ways of being that do not serve us.
"Behold, my friends, the spring is come; the Earth has gladly received the embraces of the sun, and we shall soon see the results of their love!" - Sitting Bull said at an Indian council in 1875
Let’s embrace the changes!
Happy Easter.
Shanti Om
