Namaste all,
Yoga Monday 6th November click link to view reel.
Yoga this week at the usual time - Monday 6th November, 11.15a.m. at Greasby Centre.
We have been working with grounding practices as winter draws nigh and which at the moment seems to be increasingly damp and cold.
We are aiming for BALANCE between that which is connected and that which is lifting.
Balance of body, breath, mind, and of being supported by the earth while lifting out from the earth to feel lighter so that our energies are not drawn downwards. We use grounding to allow ourselves to lift up energetically, physically and mentally and the breath is the anchor to keep up connected.
“Proper breathing depends on our eliminating tension, correcting bad habits, wrong mental and physical attitudes; the moment we get rid of these obstacles it will come into its own and bring us vitality and good health.”
Rich Szabo(jazztrumpeter, bandleader and active member of tpin).
The aim of Hatha Yoga is BALANCE
“to create an absolute balance of the interacting activities and processes of the physical body, mind and energy.” (Hatha Yoga Pradipika pg.7).
Creating balance results in the prana (life force) being able to flow through our being more effectively.
What yoga can do for you
Improves: physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
· The physical benefits: Creates a toned, flexible, and strong body. Improves respiration, energy, and vitality. Helps to maintain a balanced metabolism. Promotes cardio and circulatory health. Relieves pain. Improves our physical and mental well-being.
· The mental benefits: Helps us relax and manage stressful situations more effectively. Teaches us how to quiet the mind to enable us to focus our energy where it is needed most. Encourages positive thoughts and self-acceptance.
· The spiritual benefits: Builds awareness of the body, feelings, the world around us, the needs of others. Promotes interdependence between mind, body, and spirit. Helps us to live the concept of “oneness.”
Looking forward to grounding, breathing and being in balance with you this Monday.
Shanti Om
