Namaste all,

Yoga tomorrow morning will be focussing on building strength as always and with the emphasis on connecting more deeply to the inner Self through asana and the breath but also with awareness known as Tarka in yoga terms and as expressed in the Upanishads.
“Tarka is a Sanskrit word that means “reasoning,” “inquiry,” “conjecture,” “logic” or “speculation.” In yoga and Indian philosophy, tarka goes beyond conscious thinking and reasoning. It is a sort of reflective analysis that is only possible by turning inward and calming the mind. “ (from Yogapedia.com)
Tarka, pure awareness, is practised without judgement, and always with kindness and preferably without a narrative as we all indulge in our narratives regarding various aspects of our lives which often are not particularly helpful.
The practices of yoga are tools to help us achieve citta vrtti nirodah (calming of the mind into one pointedness) and once the mind has been disciplined the journey towards the Self is much easier as we learn to bypass the ego, the machinations of the mind and our conditioning.
Shanti Om
Sue 🙏
